The Day Of the Dead!

                           The Day of The Dead

The Day of the Dead is celebrated on November 1st in Mexico, Ecuador, Guatemala and other parts of Central and South America. Mexico celebrates this tradition during the last days of October and the first days of November. It is a happy tradition.
Families get together to pray to the souls of dead relatives, asking them to return one night. People decorate  their homes and gravesites with food, candles, candy skulls to welcome the souls back to earth. They also use skeletons to decorate the cities, and people wear costumes of skeletons and have a parade on the streets.
They cookBread of the dead in the shape of skulls and crossbones, and a toy is hidden inside. The person who bites the toy will have good luck.

On this day, people dress up as dead people. They decorate the altars.

During the Chinese New Year, people arrange their differences and exchange clothing, gifts and do rituals.
This takes place in China for two weeks and starts on January 22nd and ends on February 6th.The festival lasts two weeks. In China, there is a New Year`s lantern parade.
In the united states, the Rose Bowl parade is held before a big football match on New Year`s day.
They do not wear costumes but use new clothes to welcome the New Year.
In China there isn`t feast during New Year but there are recipes of future food.
We would like to go because it is different from our celebration. In Argentina we don`t celebrate New Year like this, but China is special because of  their technology.
Here is the festival of Chinese New Year with fireworks. It is very beautiful.

This is beautiful and looks fun!
There are fireworks because they are celebrating New Year.
They decorate the town.

by Felipe Ortiz, Nahuel Galardi and Franco Ferrari

People celebrate Christmas day in many ways. In the days or even weeks before Christmas day, many people decorate their homes and gardens with lights, Christmas trees and other decorations.

On Christmas day, people celebrate the birth of Jesus.  Christmas is celebrated in all the countries but it isn’t celebrated by all religions. The Christian Chrsitmas in celebrated by Catholics.
Sometimes fathers and grandpas wear costumes of Santa Claus.
During Christmas, people have a feast, for example: You can eat meat, chicken, special salads, etc. In the December  24th it is Christmas Eve and on December 25th it is Christmas Day.
We like this celebration because we can spend time with our family and they give us news presents.
You can see fireworks at 12 o`clock and you can open your presents. The presents that you can get during Christmas are: toys, for example a robot, clothes, for example a t-shirt.

1. It is a tradition to put presents under the tree! 2. Fireworks on Christmas Day!

Halloween takes place on October 31st. It lasts for one day and it is a traditional festival in Ireland. It Is the day of the dead.  Halloween is celebrated in many countries.
Halloween originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people made bonefires and wore costumes of ghosts.
On this day, people dress up and go trick or treating. People knock on the door and say "trick or treat". If the person who opens the door says “trick”, you do something wrong and  do tricks.  If the person says “treat”, they give you sweets.
Some traditional food:

-Blood soup
-Brain cookies
-french fried eyes balls
-Bugs in dirty sandwiches
-Brain cell salad.
-Pumpkin cake

It would be good to go to the Halloween festival because it is fun and you can do tricks with your friends!

They make jokes to scare other people, they watch horror movies or read horror stories.
Some people dress up like movie characters or they wear  terrifying costumes
In the USA it is a tradition to ask for many sweets at night (Trick or treat)

Some cartoons make Halloween episodes to celebrate. The traditional place of Halloween is the cemetery!
